About

My name is John. My day-job is in the music industry, but I blog here about Christian history, theology and apologetics. I was in Roman Catholic seminary for a time.

My posts cover (or at least intend to cover) a vast range of subjects; aiming to present Christian orthodoxy and orthopraxy, my posts often touch on either (both) Biblical interpretation or (and) historical exposition. So, Scripture and Tradition.

I'm writing primarily for myself, though I often write with an audience in mind. The subjects on which I write, and the reading and studying I do in conjunction, are ones I'm very interested in, and my motivation is laying out my own reasons and hopes why I believe in the catholic doctrines I believe in. I am trying to demonstrate what is good, true and beautiful about catholic, orthodox Christianity.

So it's an apologetic blog, but I am "giving reason for the hope that is in me" to, primarily, myself. It's somewhat therapeutic, in that I do it to help confirm for myself what I believe. Yet, I know that if I am writing for myself and my own concerns, there are others who share these concerns and are interested, so I do hope that anyone who reads it will also get something out of it.

When it's not aimed at apologetics, it's usually just about something faith related that I find edifying or highly interesting.

I have been Catholic for most of my life, but I have been on a year long discernment between Rome and the Orthodox Church -- so please pray for me, all you readers out there.

Who has bestowed on us in Christ
every spiritual blessing in the heavens.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
